Happy Holidays & Winter Wishlist

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Just wanted to do a quick update and say that I'm very nearly finished with college applications so I should have much more time to post outfits!

Here are a few things that I have been wanting to add to my winter wardrobe.

Anyone else wishing for some winter goodies?

DIY: Harry Potter Stencil Shirt

I'm always looking for the perfect graphic tee. I love t-shirts with certain graphics but I can never find any affordable ones. Then I thought, why not make my own? So I decided to make a Harry Potter graphic t-shirt because I (like many others) am a Harry Potter fan.

Here's what you'll need:
Acrylic Paint or Fabric Paint
Paint Brushes or sponge
Plain t-shirt, tank, sweatshirt, hoodie, whatever you want
Thick paper
Utility Knife or Xacto Blade

First, find a graphic that you would like to put on a t-shirt. Make sure the graphic is easy enough to cut out and paint.

Trace the graphic on your paper and then use your utility knife to cut the shape. Whatever you cut out will be the part that shows the paint.

Lay your clothing item flat down. Make sure you pre-wash your clothing because the paint will stick to it better. Put the stencil on your clothing item and position it to your liking.

Stipple (basically blotting) the paint on the clothing item through the stencil. DO NOT spread the paint; it will not go onto your top evenly.

Let dry and take off the stencil.

And you're done!

Anyone excited to make some stencils now?

Haul: Urban Outfitters, H&M, Macys'

Hey everyone! I had a long weekend and I'm back today with a haul! There were a lot of great sales; anyone else find some deals? I went to Urban Outfitters on Friday and I went to downtown on Saturday. I don't often buy enough items for it to be worthy of being called a haul but I did this time!

This is a really nice, loosely knitted sweater from H&M. I love the black and blue combination! H&M was having a buy 1 get 1 free on knitwear. My mom ended up buying a sweater too.

H&M Sweater: $17.95 (Buy 1 get 1 free)

Here's the price tag in case you didn't believe me.

The details in the collar area of this dress is beautiful.

Material Girl Dress: $13.20

This is an asymmetrical top from Urban Outfitters. I would have liked it to be a regular t-shirt but, Urban decided to be fancy and make it half a tank and half a shirt. But I liked the color too much to pass up so I got it.

Urban Outfitters Top: $3.00

In case you are still doubting me.

A really nice quality body con skirt. A good staple to have.

Urban Outfitters Skirt: $5.00

You believe me now, don't you?

Some fun patterned leggings from Macys'.

American Rag Leggings: $4.20

Simple pair of black skinny jeans from H&M. I've been looking for a nice pair of black skinny jeans so this was a good find!

H&M Black Skinny Jeans: $8

I didn't actually buy this top, my mom gave it to me. It's perfect for the fall because of it's dark red color!

DKNY Top: Gift

Hope you enjoyed my haul!

OOTD: Collared Shirt and Black Cardigan

I went to an Urban Outfitters today and decided to take a few pictures of my outfit while I was in the dressing room. The pictures are of my actual outfit and not things that I was trying on. I ended up buying two things which I will probably be showing you in another post.

You can see the Mickey Mouse shirt that I was trying on off to the side.
I'm actually wearing a little cream headband but you can't really see it in the photos.

I really like the cuffs and the collar on this shirt; it's like color blocking!

I got these recently and I love them! They're collar tips that can be added to any collared shirt. It's a simple way to add the finishing touch to an outfit.

Black Cardigan: No brand (Thrifted)
Collared Shirt: No brand (Thrifted)
Stud Collar Tips: eBay
Cream Headband: Forever 21
Black Jeans: Forever 21
Loafer Flats: Target

Instagram

Here is another round of some photos that I have on Instagram!

This is a picture of a park that is part prairie.

This is one of the buildings in the Disney World Epcot World Showcase. It might be France but I'm not entirely sure. I went to Disney World over the summer and Epcot is the park that I always enjoy the most.

This is also in Disney World. When I went to Hollywood Studios I went on the Tower of Terror and this was next to the line.

This is a picture of the same park as above during a sunset.

DIY: Slouchy Beanie

I've recently been loving the beanie trend and instead of going out to buy one, I decided to take some yarn that I had and crochet my own beanie. I'm not the biggest hat person since I don't like that it makes my hair flat so I personalized my beanie to be a hybrid between a beanie and a beret. It's simple to make if you know how to crochet a single and double stitch and if you don't, it's simple enough to learn in no time! I didn't use a pattern  for this, I just made my own.

Pattern:
1. Make a single chain of 5 stitches
2. Connect the last stitch to the first stitch with a single stitch
3. Single stitch until the circle is about 5 inches (a bigger circle will mean a bigger hat)
4. Switch to double stitch and continue until you get to the length that you want
5. Tie the end and you're done!

Here's the hat that I made. I crochet in a circle with the single stitch until the circle is about 4-5 inches across and then I switch to double stitch.

This is how it looks on. I love that it's slouchy!

Another photo of the hat

And another

Have you made any beanies lately?

Trending Now: Oxblood

I'm sure many of you know that oxblood is a must have color this fall. I personally don't always follow trends but when I see one that I like I fall in love with it. Oxblood (or just burgundy/maroon, people just trying to be fancy) is one of my favorite trends. I love the color, it just screams fall to me! I've noticed recently that, although I love the color, I'm completely lacking it in my closet. Therefore, I've made a little wishlist of things that I will hopefully be finding soon!

Oxblood Beanie - Beanies are also really big for fall and although I'm not a hat person I think that beanies add a nice touch to many outfits.

Oxblood Pants - You have no idea how long I'm been wanting some burgundy pants; it's probably been around a year. Burgundy pants would made so many things and it's a simple piece that I could just throw on but still look put together.

Chunky Knit Oxblood Sweater - Knit sweaters are perfect for the fall! I love how simple and comfy they are paired with some jeans and boots.

Do you have any fall wishlist items?

Instagram

Here is another round of Instagram photos for you! I'm thinking of taking pictures of my outfits every day and posting them here frequently. I'm sorry that I haven't been posting often. I am currently in the middle of the college process and I'll be busy for a few months but I will still try to post outfits and photos!

Black Lace and Fall Florals

Here's a quick outfit of the day! I'm using my dad's camera and I don't really know how to use it yet so there is a lack of pictures. I would have liked to get a close up of the details but the camera was just not working with me today. Hopefully I can get some more practice with the camera so that I can post more/better pictures.

Unfortunately you can't really see the lace on the shirt but I promise you that it is a lace shirt. It's actually a size XL and I'm usually an XS-S but I thought that the top was too cute to pass up so I wear it tucked in to pants or skirts. The skirt is the same skirt that was in my Wet Seal haul post from a few days ago.

If I owned statement jewelry then I would definitely have worn a necklace with this top to give it some color. I actually bought my tights at a thrift store and normally I wouldn't thrift a pair of hosiery but since it was still in the package I decided to pick it up.

Black Lace Top: Thrifted for $2
Grungy Floral Skirt: Wet Seal for $4
Tights: American Apparel (Thrifted for $0.50)

Wet Seal and H&M Haul

I just remembered that I ordered a few things from Wet Seal about a week ago and I wanted to share! They haven't arrived yet but I should have them by Friday. I would take a picture of each item but since I'm lacking a camera at the moment the pictures will be straight from their website.

These are from Wet Seal's 5 for $20 sale. About a week ago, Wet Seal had a sale on all of their clearance items, all clearance items were five for twenty dollars.

Here's a quick story:

I signed up for Wet Seal's e-mails so when they e-mailed me on the first day of the sale I was really excited and decided to take a look online. I didn't find five items so I decided not to buy anything and let things be. But a few days later Wet Seal sent me another e-mail, $0.99 shipping on all orders. Ok Wet Seal, I'll bite. So I went back to the website, determined to find five items this time. I found three things easily and then I saw some black jeggings and thought they'd be perfect. I added them to the cart. A few minutes later I went back to my cart and noticed that they were gone. Didn't I add them to my cart? What is this? So I click the item again and it says, SOLD OUT. WHAT?! SOLD OUT?! SPAZ@*%$!!!! I almost stopped shopping. I  was so mad at the time though I'm literally laughing about it now. Any ways, I managed to find five items and I'm glad I did.

Black White Print Skinny Jeans
These are actually still on Wet Seal's website though the 5 for $20 sale is over now. I was looking for more jeans and bottoms for the upcoming fall season.

Grungy Floral Belted Skirt
This is also still on the website in case you're interested. Grungy isn't really the word I'd use to describe this skirt but eh, whatever you say Wet Seal.

Snake Print Skinny Jean
This pair of pants were sold out before and then they became available again but I don't think they still have them in stock. I'm pretty excited about these pants, I think they're really cute! I'm happy that I managed to find two pairs of jeans.
Star Print Slip On
If you read my little story above then you may remember me mentioning that I had some trouble finding five items that I liked. Well, I didn't actually find five items that I liked, I only found three. So I bought my mom and my sister something. These shoes are for my sister, they're nice and simple and they'll go with a lot! I did actually see some shoes that I liked but sadly, Wet Seal doesn't carry my shoe size. I'm a 5-5 1/2 in women's. *tear*

 Tiny Lace Cami
Here's what I got for my mom. A nice basic cami with a bit of lace to wear under dresses and lower cut tops.

No, no, I didn't make a typo in the title, there really is some H&M in this post. Just one item but it's something. I went shopping yesterday and found some pants. They aren't jeans, they're more like... skinny cotton pants.

Pants
Price: $12.95
Ok, these aren't the actual pattern that I bought but for some reason they don't have a picture of them online... Mine is darker with blues, blacks, and some yellow. I'll try to get a picture up later on. They are form the Pants Collection. They have a lot of different colors, I was tempted to get a burgundy pair but I decided to hold off on it for now. The best part: they are super affordable at $12.95!

So that is some of the things that I've recently purchased, I do have a few thrift items but I can't show you them until I get a camera. Hope you enjoyed this post!

Nope, I didn't disappear off the face of the earth!

I'm sorry I disappeared for many, many months. I've been really busy, even during the summer. And, I don't really have a camera any more, what's a blog without pictures? So I think I'm going to try doings outfits of the day as often as I can. I'll also do an occasional haul and a random post here and there. But I'm back for now! Sorry, this post won't have any pictures, but I'll try getting a camera and sd card soon!
